Effects of A Constituent Herbs of Samul-tang on Antithrombosis and Antistress

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to investigate effects of a constituent herbs of Samul-tang on antithrombosis and antistress, I administered the test solutions to the mice with endotoxin-induced disseminated intravascular coagulation and stress induced by binding and drowning. The results were summerized as follows
1. Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Cnidii Rhizoma + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang inhibited the decreasing effect on platelet count, Cnidii Rhizoma and Samul-tang inhibited the decreasing effect on fibrinogen.
2. Angelicae gigantis Radix, Rehmanniae Radix Preparat, Cnidii Rhizoma solution, the combinations of three ones of Samul-tang composition, and Samul-tang showed significant inhibitory effect on the prolongation of prothrombin time, and Angelicae gigantis Radix, Cnidii Rhizoma solution, the combinations of three ones of Samul-tang composition, and Samul-tang showed significant inhibitory effect on the prolongation of APTT.
3. Paeoniae Radix, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang increased WBC count significantly.
4. Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat + Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang decreased adrenal gland weight significantly and increased spleen weight significantly. 5. Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang inhibited SGOT activity, and Cnidii Rhizoma, Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat + Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat + Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang inhibited SGPT activity significantly.
6. Cnidii Rhizoma, Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat + Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae gigantis Radix + Paeoniae Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Preparat solution and Samul-tang inhibited LDH activity significantly.
7. Rehmanniae Radix Preparat and Rehmanniae Radix Preparat-included combination activated ALP activity.
8. Angelicae gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix solution, the combinations of three ones of Samul-tang composition, and Samul-tang increased glucose level significantly. 9. Total cholesterol concentrations in each group represented that Paeoniae Radix treated group has inhibitory effects on choresterol increment.
10. Cortisol concentrations in the blood by each herb showed inhibitory effects on cortisol increment.
